Innovation at the nexus of Agriculture & Human Health will take center stage at the RFSI Forum pitch session.
Innovation and technology has a key role to play in enabling and advancing regeneration across agriculture and food. To spotlight some of the most promising solutions shaping this future, RFSI – in partnership with The First Thirty (TFT) – hosted a call for pitches ahead of the 2025 RFSI Forum, taking place October 7–8 in Minneapolis.
This year’s pitch session theme, “Agriculture & Health: Solving Global Health Challenges with Agricultural and Food Interventions” explores how regenerative agriculture – and innovation that enables it – can address urgent human health and nutrition challenges. Industrial agriculture often undermines nutrition and well-being through nutrient decline, chemical exposure, ultra-processed diets, and environmental degradation—all of which contribute to chronic disease and rising health costs.
In contrast, regenerative agriculture offers solutions to human health challenges and at a fraction of the systemic costs that present-day health interventions can. Early-stage innovation plays a pivotal role in unlocking these outcomes—both on the farm (through healthier soils, plants, and animals) and beyond the farm gate (through new ways of capturing, verifying, and delivering health value to consumers).
We received an inspiring range of applications—from seaweed-based crop inputs to innovative packaging solutions to regenerative and health focused communities to traceability platforms—demonstrating the breadth of opportunities at the intersection of agriculture and health. Together, all the solutions submitted serve as a valuable reminder of the potential that innovation has to drive regenerative transformation from farmer to consumer.
After careful review, we are thrilled to share the Top 10 U.S. Regenerative Start-Up Pitches for 2025, selected for their novelty, scalability, and impact potential:
- Cascadia Seaweed: Cascadia Seaweed cultivates kelp and transforms it into agricultural products that boost yields, cut emissions, and support a healthy planet.
- Good Oak: A fee for service land management company using regenerative farming as the land management tool working convert public utility lands into productive, regenerative habitat corridors and carbon sinks.
- GrownBy: Developed out of the Farm Generations Cooperative, GrownBy is the first free and farmer-owned software platform built for local farm sales.
- PAGE Technologies: Born from a research collaboration between the University of Colorado Boulder and University of California Berkeley, PAGE Technologies is building low-cost sensor systems and advanced analytics that provide actionable insights to boost stakeholder profits and sustainability.
- Peelon: PeelON products harness the natural antimicrobial properties of bioactive agents derived from plant extracts for use in sustainable packaging.
- Renewables: Two-wheel electric tractors designed for a simple goal: to make sustainable, small-scale farming more accessible and efficient.
- Reveal Foods: To support brands that struggle to validate claims by their suppliers, Reveal has developed the first affordable, accurate, rapid test that detects over a 100 antibiotics in 20 minutes at a tenth of the cost of lab testing.
- Rhize Bio: On a mission to provide advanced, machine learning technologies to demystify one of the most biologically complex and critically-important environments in the world: Our soil.
- Triangle Digital: Triangle has developed a blended finance kit that combines payments for actions and outcomes alongside carbon and c-benefit credits that allow to create the incentive mechanism for adoption of practices and the regenerative transition.
- ucrop.it: Verifying nature positive agriculture at a global scale by connecting farmers, brands & program developers in agreements to trace and share sustainable goals through verified Crops Stories from farm to product.
From this outstanding group, four finalists have been chosen to pitch live at the RFSI Forum and vie for the title of “2025 RFSI Forum People’s Choice Pitch Session Winner”:
Congratulations to these innovators! Their work highlights the power of entrepreneurship to drive regenerative transformation – from farm to consumer – and create healthier food systems for people and planet.
Join us in Minneapolis on October 7–8 to see these pitches live, alongside so much more at the 7th Annual Regenerative Food Systems Investment Forum.
