Relationship Manager & Sales Lead

THE ROLE
RFSI is seeking a Sales Lead and Relationship Manager to join our small and productive team. This position will contribute significantly to efforts to grow our revenue and impact in a booming, innovation-filled environment working to improve food systems. We are looking for someone who gets excited about building relationships in the agriculture and investing industry, who values making a positive impact in their work, and who has experience reaching and exceeding sales goals. An ideal fit for this role is someone who is highly motivated to contribute to food systems change, has experience building lasting partnerships with new individuals and companies, can listen well and strategically build and execute plans to serve clients based on their needs. A self-starter, who loves to learn new things, who communicates well and who works well in a team environment but also takes a project and runs with it when needed, will fit in nicely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with investors, fund managers, and regenerative agriculture and food enterprises.
- Understand the unique challenges and requirements of each potential partner to create tailored sponsor packages and media offerings that meet their needs.
Support Revenue Goals & Targets:
- Play a key role in converting event sponsorship, media, and advertising sales.
- Continuously identify and meet with new organizations and companies to share RFSI’s work and offerings.
- Continuously monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to improve performance.
Product Expertise:
- Develop a deep understanding of RFSI’s unique position in the regen ecosystem and be able to communicate our value and services (event sponsorships, custom media, referrals, etc.) to our community and partners.
- Positively represent RFSI, our mission, and services across the space
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and the evolving needs start-ups and funders and investors.
CRM Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including calls, meetings, and closed deals.
- Lead the rest of team in using our CRM platform to maximize ROI and efficiently manage an increasing number of relationships.
- Regularly report sales progress, pipeline, and forecasts to the rest of the team.
Collaboration:
- Contribute to future planning for RFSI based on market insights and client feedback.
- Assist as needed with marketing, content, and event execution – as a small team we do jump across job descriptions and appreciate contributions outside of your job description.
- Participate in outside events, webinars, and workshops to represent the company and gather market intelligence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Ag Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Proficiency in English. - Three to five years sales experience requirement in a similar consultative revenue generating role.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the agriculture, finance, and/or events.
- Understanding of (and passion for!) regenerative agriculture and food systems.
- Demonstrate strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives while working independently. Experience using CRM software and sales automation tools – Hubspot experience is a plus!
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as required (minimum of 3-5 times per year)
- Great if you also bring to the table: Existing network within the regenerative agriculture and/or impact investment and finance community

Full-time, Exempt.
BASE SALARY: $58,000-$65,000 (Bonus potential)
